Star Wars fans should be excited about the rumours for EA and Respawn’s Jedi: Fallen Order.
EA seem to be making up for their ‘mistakes’ with Battlefront 2 (yeah right) by making what many would consider the dream Star Wars game.
Despite being the last person on the planet who could definitively say what it is about lightsabres, the force and green gremlins that appeals to the masses, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an attractive prospect that should have casual and diehard fans excited.
Rather than another multiplayer game ruined by microtransactions, loot boxes and dodgy shenanigans, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single-player title developed by the creators of Titanfall, Respawn.
Yes, you will one day be able to swing about blue, green, red, purple or whatever colour lightsabres you want in a narrative driven adventure where you’re not annoyed by some kid screaming about being killed and not being able to play as Darth Vader.
It takes place after Revenge Of The Sith (the one where Anakin made himself a fan-favourite by killing younglings), and – according to Unilad – it will depict the fallout of Order 66, in which the Jedi were nearly wiped out completely.
And if all this isn’t enough to make you cream your jeans with excitement, the game will also feature lightsabre duels.
EA has spoken before about a 2019 release window for Respawn’s attempt at pleasing the picky fanbase, which supports a Reddit user’s statement that the game will be launched in November next year.
The same Reddit user, Xyzsvtabc, also disclosed plot details, stating that players will control a peeved off padawan who – unsurprisingly – wants vengeance after surviving Revenge Of The Sith’s purge: "It takes place about 5 years after Revenge of the Sith and follows the main character whose name is Cal (I forget his last name).
He's was a paduwan that survived the efforts to kill all of the remaining jedi. They showed a ton of artwork." If this still doesn’t sound good enough, then you’ll hopefully be pleased to hear that the game is also rumoured to be single-player only with EA restraining multiplayer to Battlefront.
Not a ton of gameplay info but some of the other story lines are that he has a mentor figure who is a woman named Ceres.
The only other thing I remember is them talking about other characters they would come across from some of the comics.
